Chinese Style Batter

This Chinese Style Batter Mix is so simple it takes less than 5 minutes to prepare. You can coat your favourite meats like chicken, beef or pork in this batter and deep fry it in less than 5 minutes for tasty, take away style battered meat pieces. 

Shopping List

  •  110g / 4oz Flour
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons of milk
  • 4 tablespoons of sesasme oil
  • salt and pepper
Equipment Needed










  • Large chinese Style Wok, filled with a couple of inches of cooking oil

Directions

This recipe is so simple it takes less than 5 minutes. Seperate your egg yolks and add them to the flour in a large mixing bowl. Add your baking powder, and whisk into a smooth mix. Add the milk, salt and pepper and sesasme oil. Continue to whisk and set to one side.

When battering your meat, simply coat the meat pieces in flour, and dip them into the Chinese Style Batter Mix. Immediately add them to your Wok with an inch or two of very hot oil. Fry for a couple of minutes until golden brown, remove from the oil and set the pieces onto an absorbant kitchen paper to absorb the remaining oil.

And you're done!
